At 5 1/2 months pregnant surfing was out of the question for me, so we decided to head to our beach house for our spring vacation. But before we left we had several appointments.
Between Monday and Tuesday we visited 7 different child care centers. It was exhausting and very informative. Of course Jason and I did our fair share of research before hand and talked to as many moms and dads in the area. After seeing many different places, we didn't hesitate for a second when we walked into the Early Education Center. We knew this was the right "school" for our little boy. Coincidentally it is owned by one of the yoga teachers I practice with. We weren't even aware of it before we made the appointment! We refer to it as a school because that really is the feeling you get when you walk in the door. Right away we were greeted by Sue, the friendly receptionist, who made us very comfortable with bringing Quinten there and surrounded by class pictures and governor awards earned by Quinten's teachers. We are excited for him to make lots of friends and learn lots of new things. It is absolutely amazing that you really do need to get on waiting lists so many months ahead to ensure a spot at one of the better schools. After a long two days we were off to the beach!
My mom and dad joined us for the week. We celebrated my mom's 61st birthday!
It was a wonderful week. Mom and I shopped, while the men worked. The bean already has a closet full of clothes and our sunroom has new wood walls. We forgot to tell Dad and Jason, before we left for our shopping trip, to wait on the Bloody Mary's until they put the power tools away!
