Birthday!

We celebrated Quinten's birthday in Wilmington. I took him to get his pictures taken at a wonderful photography studio in Glen Mills, Little Nest. We had the best time and the pictures came out fabulous! We are having a difficult time picking a few for the new house.

Quinten and I then went to visit his friends and teachers at his school.
He was shy at first but quickly started playing with the other kids and hugged Miss Jennifer.
She even surprised him with awesome beach toys and the perfect t-shirt (photo coming soon!)
Thanks Miss Jennifer!

After putting the birthday boy to bed, Jason and I celebrated surviving our first year of parenthood with a delicious
sushi dinner. I will post pics of his party soon:)
Thank you everyone for celebrating with us!

Q's first haircut!

Q's hair was getting a little shaggy so we took him for his first hair cut before the big day!
We found a great kids' salon at the beach!
 Sitting like a big boy!
Capes on and ready to go!
Finished!!!

Quinten was great he sat still and didn't mind getting his hair cut at all. Even though a whole lot didn't get cut, he looks quite different!

1 YEAR OLD!!!!

Quinten will turn one, ONE! in just a few more days. Little did we know this time last year that we would have to seriously prepare ourselves for the little dude's early arrival. It was certainly no easy feat! I look back and am definitely proud of us. We got through those first few shaky weeks of wondering if  we were doing everything "right", the worry, the excitement, the fear, the doubts...

But the weeks, then months just flew by us and all I remember now is a flurry and blur of a crying baby, endless feedings, diaper changes, sleepless nights, a messy house and a very confused dog. Things did eventually get easier...Jason and I always managed to keep each other smiling and took the time to appreciate and document;) most everything!
Here is our little Angel Baby!
5 lbs.
 7 lbs.
 10.8 lbs.
 12.7 lbs.
 13.4 lbs.
15 lbs.
 17.2 lbs.
18.7 lbs.
20 lbs.
22 lbs.

I cannot resist this little boy, he is divine.
Happy First Birthday my sweet angel baby,
when I see you I see my
 ♥.

The little things we never want to forget...

As Quinten gets bigger, it is hard to believe how small he was when he was born.
I remember we sent GM Kurash out to get clothes to fit Quinten when he was born because the newborn things we brought to the hospital were way to big.

Here are a few little things we never want to forget...
Quinten has been such a good snuggler from the start. I will definitely miss this when he gets big.

From the time of his birth, Quinten was always chilling with his feet crossed!
I remember one day, Quinten was about 6 months old, I walked into the living room where Jason and Quinten were playing.  Jason said, "my favorite part of him is definitely his little feet, they are so cute!"

Is there anything cuter?!?
That little sparkle in his gorgeous blue eyes!
And of course the little smirk that goes with it;)
His beautiful long lashes and that silly little tongue that is always out!
Little chunky hands!
His delicious, little earlobes!
Chunky, little monkey cheeks!
Sleeping Angel Baby!
One of our favorite poses Quinten use to do in his sleep...and the startle reflex!
It is amazing watching Quinten grow and learn, but we will definitely miss our tiny little Angel Baby!

Summer Fun!

Our summer is off to a fabulous start!
Jason has been off of work recovering from his knee surgery (everything went well and he is already back in the gym). He has been off for 3 weeks so we have been able to have tons of family fun time in the sun!
Quinten has been getting in very silly moods lately and laughing a lot!

It turns out Quinten LOVES the pool!
He will stay in the water for up to two hours straight!
He loves floating in his tube, playing with other kids and their toys, and jumping in!
Either from sitting...
or standing!
Of course even in the water his feet are crossed!
 Chillin' in the raft!

Between the sun and all his swimming, Quinten has been taking either 2 good naps a day or one good nap (2 hours) and an early bedtime (between 6 and 7)!
If we are at the beach he will take an afternoon nap on the beach, usually if we go to the pool when he comes home and hits the air conditioning he gets a second wind of energy and just wants to play!
 Happy 4th of July!
He did not stay up for fireworks, so we watched them on tv:)
We have taken a few early morning trips to the beach so that Callie could swim and play with her furry friends.
It seems like Quinten is doing new things every day!
He has more teeth coming in...he now has his 2 bottom middle, his 2 fangs, top 2 middle and this morning his bottom sides started popping through!
He can stand for a minute or so, but will fall when he gets excited or realizes that no one is holding on to him and will even try to take a few steps!
He is starting to help clean up his toy messes by putting his toys in the box.
When we put the changing pad on the floor he crawls over to it and lays down to get his diaper changed...this is pretty funny because he often laughs when he does it, so we are never sure what to expect!!!
He is starting to figure out his shape toy and can put the circle in the right spot and the lid on a container.
First trip to the library...he enjoyed Tot Time where we got to meet other moms and babies and sing songs:)

Quinten and I tried our first Mommy Baby yoga class Thursday.
It was awesome, we met other mommies and babies.
Quinten had fun crawling around, stretching and checking out all the yoga blocks!
All this play is turning our little man into an eating machine!
He tried cow milk for the first time this week....LOVED IT! drank a 9 oz bottle (he usually only drinks 3-5 oz at a time).

Quinten's current schedule is:
Wakes up between 5:30 and 7:00 (unfortunately we are still on early wake up time from school)
Breakfast: cereal or toast & fruit (a banana) near 8:00
Either take Callie to the beach, go to the library, yoga, or just take a walk and play at the house.
Nap: 1 to 2 hrs. falls asleep between 9:30 and 11:00
Noon: lunch (avocado, chicken, chic peas, edamame) loves any beans!
POOL or BEACH TIME!
2:00 snack usually he will eat more fruit at pool and then a yogurt when we get home.
Nap: if he takes a 2nd nap it is usually near 3:30 he will drink some milk before he dozes off or become energized by the air conditioning and skip his nap.
Soon after he wakes he eats dinner (5:30)
Bedtime: Quinten will take a bath near 6:30, watch a dvd, read books, have some milk and then hopefully off to bed for the night.
He does still wake up near 1:00 and between 4:30 and 5:30 for some milk:)

11 months

Quinten turned 11 months last Monday:)
It has been a month of moving and festivals!
Q in his Wilmington room for the last time:'(

It is official we left Wilmington:( the move was bittersweet. We are excited to move on to bigger and better things, but will definitely miss our first home. Quinten was a trooper through the move as you can see he was a huge help...
As the movers came and took all of our things, Q caught an afternoon nap!
Playing on Mommy and Daddy's bed before the movers dismantled it!
I wish I had a video, we were all laughing uncontrollably here...great way to spend our last hours in the house.
Where's Waldo Quinten?

Luckily, the week we packed up was the week of festivals in Wilmington.
This made it a lot easier to pack up the kitchen...it also meant lots of gyros and pizza!
I think we made it to the Greek Festival every night...it was only a 3 block walk from the house...we will definitely miss the convenience of things like this when we move to the burbs!
Clapping for the Greek dancers with the Addy and Coryn.
GP Kurash enjoying some music!
Quinten enjoying tomato pie!

We had a pre-construction meeting with our project manager.
Here are the first pictures of our future home!
The pile of gravel to the left shows where our road is going in (Castlerae Road).
Behind the black pipes is our lot:) Our lot is backed by woods, which I'm sure Callie and Quinten will have lots of fun playing in.

They are supposed to break ground on July 9th on our new home. Our plan is to stay with our friends Rocky and Nina for the last few days of school and then spend the summer at the beach:)
I definitely look forward to being a stay at home mommy for the summer!

Here are a few videos of Quinn this month:
Cruising in his walker!
Rolling the ball!
Crawling around!

11 New Things Quinten does at 11 Months...
1. Walking while holding on to couch, our hands...whatever he can pull up on. As the month went on the quicker he got.
2. Makes silly noises with his fingers and lips.
3. Attachment to Mommy has increased immensely this month.
4. Trying lots of new foods (chicken, steamed veggies, blueberries and raspberries) we have been letting him try most everything we eat. He is not a big fan of soft food anymore...other than yogurt of course!
5. Waving hello and goodbye...he has been waving for awhile but it definitely seems more intentional now.
6. Plays peek a boo!
Now he not only pulls a blanket up but will bend down and hide...likes to play this best when skyping.
7. Quinten morphed his scoot, into a "pirate" crawl...dragging one leg, and now finally a real crawl!
8. Teeth! By the end of the month his 2 incisors, aka fangs, came down and the 2 top middle look like they will pop through any day.
9. Crawling through the door of his Laugh and Learn playhouse. He has always liked to play with his house but crawling has taken the fun to a whole new level.
10. Listens to the word "No" although once in awhile he try to push limits;)
11. Grunts and points (with his whole hand) if he wants more food, once in awhile if I ask more he nod his head:)

11 Things Quinten Loves at 11 Months...
1.Quinn definitely is still Callie's #1 fan!
He screeches when he sees her and is often crawling all over her and kissing her nose.
Quinten's favorite new trick is giving her some of his food.
Luckily for all of us she is the most docile 105lb. dog you'll ever meet:)
2. Elmo...whenever he sees an Elmo toy or him in a book Q smiles!
3.Playing "Uh Oh" dropping stuff, especially from his highchair or shopping cart and seeing us pick it up!
4. Talking...most days he is none stop!
5. Being held...by anyone. The other day we were at the food store and he tried to go to the lady standing next to us?!?
5. Going to the park, he loves the swing the best.
6. Sticking his tongue out...hopefully once his teeth come in they will keep this thing inside!
7. Playing catch...okay so he doesn't exactly catch the ball.
8. Going outside, as soon as the door opens, Quinn starts doing the happy dance and screeching.
9. To be tickled...under his chin is still the most ticklish spot...he likes when I sing Itsy Bitsy Spider when he is laying down and tickle him
10. Exploring, he has always been very observant and inspects every little thing. Now that he is constantly on the move there is so much more to see!
11. School...this is the only sad thing about summer...Quinn LOVES his teachers and friends, especially Miss Jennifer. Mr. Stubborn would often only eat if she was feeding him and would freak if she left the room.
I am mad at myself, I packed up his school book before I scanned the pictures of his graduation...very cute I'll have to post them in October when we unpack!

I have been researching different play groups and classes we can join this summer so that he will have plenty of interaction with other children. Our little family is looking forward to lots of family time this summer...it is so hard to believe that last year this time we were preparing for his arrival and now he is this little person doing so many things...AMAZING!!!
