11 months

Quinten turned 11 months last Monday:)
It has been a month of moving and festivals!
Q in his Wilmington room for the last time:'(

It is official we left Wilmington:( the move was bittersweet. We are excited to move on to bigger and better things, but will definitely miss our first home. Quinten was a trooper through the move as you can see he was a huge help...
As the movers came and took all of our things, Q caught an afternoon nap!
Playing on Mommy and Daddy's bed before the movers dismantled it!
I wish I had a video, we were all laughing uncontrollably here...great way to spend our last hours in the house.
Where's Waldo Quinten?

Luckily, the week we packed up was the week of festivals in Wilmington.
This made it a lot easier to pack up the kitchen...it also meant lots of gyros and pizza!
I think we made it to the Greek Festival every night...it was only a 3 block walk from the house...we will definitely miss the convenience of things like this when we move to the burbs!
Clapping for the Greek dancers with the Addy and Coryn.
GP Kurash enjoying some music!
Quinten enjoying tomato pie!

We had a pre-construction meeting with our project manager.
Here are the first pictures of our future home!
The pile of gravel to the left shows where our road is going in (Castlerae Road).
Behind the black pipes is our lot:) Our lot is backed by woods, which I'm sure Callie and Quinten will have lots of fun playing in.

They are supposed to break ground on July 9th on our new home. Our plan is to stay with our friends Rocky and Nina for the last few days of school and then spend the summer at the beach:)
I definitely look forward to being a stay at home mommy for the summer!

Here are a few videos of Quinn this month:
Cruising in his walker!
Rolling the ball!
Crawling around!

11 New Things Quinten does at 11 Months...
1. Walking while holding on to couch, our hands...whatever he can pull up on. As the month went on the quicker he got.
2. Makes silly noises with his fingers and lips.
3. Attachment to Mommy has increased immensely this month.
4. Trying lots of new foods (chicken, steamed veggies, blueberries and raspberries) we have been letting him try most everything we eat. He is not a big fan of soft food anymore...other than yogurt of course!
5. Waving hello and goodbye...he has been waving for awhile but it definitely seems more intentional now.
6. Plays peek a boo!
Now he not only pulls a blanket up but will bend down and hide...likes to play this best when skyping.
7. Quinten morphed his scoot, into a "pirate" crawl...dragging one leg, and now finally a real crawl!
8. Teeth! By the end of the month his 2 incisors, aka fangs, came down and the 2 top middle look like they will pop through any day.
9. Crawling through the door of his Laugh and Learn playhouse. He has always liked to play with his house but crawling has taken the fun to a whole new level.
10. Listens to the word "No" although once in awhile he try to push limits;)
11. Grunts and points (with his whole hand) if he wants more food, once in awhile if I ask more he nod his head:)

11 Things Quinten Loves at 11 Months...
1.Quinn definitely is still Callie's #1 fan!
He screeches when he sees her and is often crawling all over her and kissing her nose.
Quinten's favorite new trick is giving her some of his food.
Luckily for all of us she is the most docile 105lb. dog you'll ever meet:)
2. Elmo...whenever he sees an Elmo toy or him in a book Q smiles!
3.Playing "Uh Oh" dropping stuff, especially from his highchair or shopping cart and seeing us pick it up!
4. Talking...most days he is none stop!
5. Being held...by anyone. The other day we were at the food store and he tried to go to the lady standing next to us?!?
5. Going to the park, he loves the swing the best.
6. Sticking his tongue out...hopefully once his teeth come in they will keep this thing inside!
7. Playing catch...okay so he doesn't exactly catch the ball.
8. Going outside, as soon as the door opens, Quinn starts doing the happy dance and screeching.
9. To be tickled...under his chin is still the most ticklish spot...he likes when I sing Itsy Bitsy Spider when he is laying down and tickle him
10. Exploring, he has always been very observant and inspects every little thing. Now that he is constantly on the move there is so much more to see!
11. School...this is the only sad thing about summer...Quinn LOVES his teachers and friends, especially Miss Jennifer. Mr. Stubborn would often only eat if she was feeding him and would freak if she left the room.
I am mad at myself, I packed up his school book before I scanned the pictures of his graduation...very cute I'll have to post them in October when we unpack!

I have been researching different play groups and classes we can join this summer so that he will have plenty of interaction with other children. Our little family is looking forward to lots of family time this summer...it is so hard to believe that last year this time we were preparing for his arrival and now he is this little person doing so many things...AMAZING!!!

Memorial Day

Quinten enjoyed his first beach weekend!
It was AWESOME!
Saturday we packed up towels, toys, beach chairs and Q's pool and ventured out for our first day at the beach. We rented an umbrella and the wind kept it pretty cool. Quinn had a blast and he was definitely the cutest baby on the beach in his little board shorts and rashguard!
 Eating honey dew
Playing with Reagan
After a long day in the sand and salt water it was easier to wash Quinten off in the sink, since we didn't have his beloved whale tub.
Quinten: "What do you mean this is where you wash dirty dishes?"
A long nap was needed after a big day at the beach!

Sunday morning while Daddy made us blueberry pancakes, Quinten watched Elmo's World!
Still sleepy
Quinn enjoyed smashing the pancakes more than eating them!
Sunday we spent the day in the backyard BBQing.
"Daddy cut up this watermelon so I can try it!"
Quinten was not a fan of watermelon. (Loves cantaloupe, likes honey dew)
My childhood friend Heather and family came over for lunch. Their daughter TJ enjoyed a dip in the Q pool! Our friends Kelie and Michael just bought a house down the street from us so they biked up with their girls for steak tacos.
Before they came, we managed to take a nice long family nap!
Elle and Gianna LOVE Quinten, they even asked if they could take him home.....NO WAY;)
Before heading North Monday night, we spent another great day on the beach. We decided to buy a cabana to block the wind. It was a great spot for a midday nap.
 Baby butt:)
We stopped in to see friends after leaving the beach. Quinten quickly found the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit addition to hold his attention, while we all chatted.
Our weekend was very enjoyable and successful. Quinten took a nap on the beach both days and was not too aggravated by the sand. He did like licking the salt water off his hands:p
Hope everyone had a safe and fun Memorial Day Weekend and we remember all those who gave their lives to makes ours' better!

Double digits!

It is unbelievable that Quinten hit double digits (10 months) Friday!
He cracks us up more and more each day. He has such a big personality for being so little.
Rocking a mohawk!
Caught pulling up on his crib!
While I was getting ready for work, Quinn pulled up on our bed and was having a conversation with me. He is yelling "da da la na." It is really funny when he talks, he uses different tones and inflections with his little voice.
 Newest trick...feeding Callie.
Isn't that hard since she is a mini horse!
 Eating banana, cantaloupe and puffs!
YUM!
Quinten tried yogurt for the first time this month...he is frustrated at the beginning of the video because I was setting up the camera and not getting him the Yo Baby quick enough!

 Such a handsome little boy!
 Posing with Mommy!
 Petting Callie
 Playing at school!
Quinn just took his little friends book...and got caught!

This is was the excerpt from Quinten's school newsletter.
The picture is blurry because he is shaking a rattle in one hand and banging a drum with the other.
Quinten enjoys sitting and dancing in our room, lots of our toys, make music or sing. Anytime a friend presses a toy that makes noise, he can be seen waving his arms and moving his body!
We were all laying on our bed chatting, waiting for the sheets to dry.
Quinten's hair was out of control and he looks huge!
Quinten petting Callie!

10 New Things Quinten does at 10 Months...
1. Pulling up on everything!
2. Lots of new sounds and babbling, the funniest is the gurgle noise he makes.
3. Shy Guy!
When he sees someone new he puts a very coy face on and hides in my arm, within seconds he is smiling and laughing with that new person.
4. Trying lots of new foods (chick peas, avocado, cheerios, cantaloupe are a few favs)
5. Clapping he actually did this today for the first time...where were we...Nordstrom shoe department! Definitely takes after Mommy;)
6. Plays peek a boo!
He has laughed when we have played with him for awhile, but now he will pull a blanket up to play with us.
7. Scoots
He is always on the move these days...skipping the crawling stage altogether we think.
Q manages to get himself from one side of the room to the other (mainly to get Callie or one of her toys).
8. Starting to know people by name (Daddy, Callie, Grandma, Grandpa and Elmo of course!)
9. Tries to whistle!
Thanks GP for introducing this...when you whistle to Q he tries to do it back.
10. Rolls the ball back and forth with Daddy!
10 Things Quinten Loves at 10 Months...
1. Books, Books, Books
If I were a Zebra is still his favorite by far!
2. Callie, we all lay in bed together in the morning and Quinten will sit and talk or scream to Callie for an hour. He is always scooting to get closer to her and trying to pet and kiss her every chance he gets. Luckily, Callie is a very, mellow dog and pays him little attention, other than the occasional lick on the face to get the remains of whatever he last ate.
3. Johnny Jumper...jumping toy that hangs from doorway (Thanks GM)
4. Blowing raspberries
5. Playing in his crib
Q loves standing in his crib and using the railing to walk all around.
6. Taking walks in the stroller.
7. Loves going new places and seeing new people.
After the initial shyness, Quinn loves being held and playing with whomever is willing to entertain him.
8. Walker toy!
He loves the new found freedom his walker has brought and can get around the kitchen with ease.
9. Playing with his spikey ball (mini exercise ball)
10. Waking up! (ha...although he still wakes up at least twice a night..that is not what I mean)
When Q first wakes up, either in the morning or from a nap (if he has slept long enough) he is the happiest, silliest baby. Lots of crazy conversations, squeals of delight when he sees Callie, jumping, flailing and pulling up on our headboard (we bring him in our room when he wakes up). He is definitely a morning person!

Mother's Day

Celebrating my first Mother's Day with my mom and my monkey!
We spent a lovely, long weekend at the beach with GM & GP Kurash.

Quinten went to Jimmy's Grill in Dewey for the first time!
We were getting our picture taken by 2 cameras...
Unfortunately, we weren't all looking at the same one in either picture!

We went to an art festival in Dewey, where we took some chances on a raffle...
GM & GP won the best prize!
Since it was such a nice sunny day, we decided to check out the beach.
Quinten enjoyed his first official beach day!
 Reading and laughing with Daddy!
 Beach Boys!
I was greeted with Quinten holding a little box Mother's Day morning.
He (and Jason) gave me my "Q" bracelet.
Quinn made me this card at school:)
We all went for a delicious brunch at Summer House and bumped into some friends on the boardwalk afterwards.
 Jason, Quinn and the Proctors
After a walk we went to the park so Quinten could show GM & GP how he swings like a big boy.
They had lots of cool things for him to check out. He liked this bouncing lady bug and we both enjoyed our first slide together.
I know it was my first Mother's Day being a mom, but it was the BEST!!!
We all had such a wonderful time, I am so thankful that my parents were able to come visit and spend the time with us.
 I love this picture:)

Family Fun!

This is the picture I was talking about in our last post, the photographer finally sent it to us:)
We have been enjoying the nice weather lately and having quality family time!
Instead of using the jogging stroller we normally take on walks, we broke out the Britax.
Quinn and I use to take this to our mommy an me classes when he was only a few weeks old...seems so  long ago! He LOVED being in this stroller. I think having the tray made it more fun. He was able to have road snacks and liked to rest his feet up on it!
We walked to the dog park. Quinten laughed at Callie running around with her dog friends!
Kicking back watching the silly dogs play!
(notice where his feet are)
We stopped at the kid park so Q could swing for awhile.
As you can see by his expression, he loved to be pushed by Daddy!
Being silly and laughing at Mommy and Daddy!
Laughing and playing with Daddy!
We went shopping and Quinten "test drove" a walker in Target.

While we got his bath ready, Quinn had a blast playing with the tops of shoeboxes.
Quinten is pulling himself up on everything lately and trying to stand. Notice his reaction when I tell him that I don't like him to do it in the tub!

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, we sure did!
